Like my cell phone, this portable battery has become indispensable-it does its job, and he does it really, really well. It can fully charge my iPhone (geriatric 5S) in less than an hour. And that can do it more than once! This is only after recharging a fully 100% battery twice as the device runs out of juice and needs to be recharged. (This is what happened when I tried not to use my phone for a week.)

Of course, there are lots of portable batteries, and some can charge faster or retain more energy (they so can charge your phone several times). But all this extra power comes with a compromise: a heavier and bigger unit. Since I wear the Jackery with me almost everywhere I go, I am happy that it is so light (just under 3 ounces) and small. It is about 4 inches long and a little less than an inch wide, about half the size of a Starbursts stick.
How to use the Jackery Charger: a simple two step process
: First, load the Jackery Charger. It comes with a micro-USB charging cable. Plug one end of the cable into the device and slide the other end into the USB port of your computer or into the base of the charger that came with your phone. (That's what plugs into a socket.) After two or three hours, the battery must be fully charged. To be certain, press the small black button on the device to see how many blue dots go on-when all four are on, the device is fully charged. Now you have the power on the road.

To charge your phone, plug the cable from your phone into your phone, and stick the other end into the Jackery. Press again this little black button – the same one that shows you the charge of the portable battery – and your phone will start charging
